Feliz Navidad my loves! Christmas is here and I am wishing you all a very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. I am currently in upstate NY visiting mine and my husband's family. We drove up Saturday morning and will be here until Tuesday morning. I wish I could have stayed the whole week but unfortunately I have to return back to work Wednesday.....
This year my husband and I didn't buy each other any gifts and really wanted to give back to others. We sent a huge package of gifts and supplies to my family in Puerto Rico and donated gifts to children in need through our church. For me this was one of our best decisions because it toke away the stress of spending money and my heart felt so full. I honestly didn't need anything this year and giving to others was my priority.
We spent Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) at my parents house. My mom cooked arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), pernil (pork shoulder), pasteles, and sweet plantains with ground beef and a bottle of coquito (Puerto Rican egg nog)! I literally stuffed my face and it was so delicious. Perfect night and with my family. I spent my night with my nephew and watching the Grinch. Its moments like those that are so meaningful to me and I can't wait to one day be a mommy.
